This is the new pair of Musk Lorikeets, the parents of the five babies.
Nearest is the female, she has almost none of the blue colouring on her head, this appears unusual as the female from the other pair has a very distinct greenish blue area.
The male has a reddish blue head but again it is not as deeply blue or as large as the area on the other male.
All this probably proves that it is not possible to identify either a male or female Musk by its plumage colouration.
