Charter for nz.biz.misc

This document covers the charter for the use of the moderated New
Zealand Newsgroup nz.biz.misc.

Introduction
------------

The intention of nz.biz.misc is to provide an outlet for New Zealand
organisations (including sole traders) to post commercial advertisements
to the New Zealand Internet's USENET news. Commercial advertisements are
not allowed in nz.general, nz.comp or nz.wanted, please confine them to
nz.biz.misc.

Submissions should be sent to nz-biz-misc@usenet.net.nz.
The moderators can be contacted via nbm-requests@usenet.net.nz

Guidelines
----------

1) The moderator will only post messages where the poster is an
identifiable New Zealand organisation (no individuals unless they
are operating under the status as a sole trader).

The organisation must be selling the product or service inside New
Zealand, and that organisation must be contactable via the Internet. No
messages will me posted from 'my friend who doesn't have access to the
Internet'. Postings by individuals will be pointed to nz.wanted.

2) Postings of products or services which do not change (eg
price lists) will only be posted at most every two weeks.

3) Advertisements submitted must be for a legal product or service,
and any advertisements which are suspicious in the moderator's
   opinion will be refused.

4) Advertisements must be submitted with the subject starting with
   one of the following keywords:

   Keyword. Meaning.
   ========================================================================
[G] Good. (ie product with physical form, ie computer
                         hardware, book, car)

[S] Service. (ie consultancy, advertising space)

   [G/S] Combination of the above.

   [J] Job.

[WWW] Commercial World Wide Web or online resource.

The moderator is entitled to insert keyword information into the
subject heading. Extra information may be inserted into the body
to further clarify the message. This is normally only done in
   consultation with the advertiser.

5) Advertisements should NOT be cross-posted to other areas, and those
that are, will be rejected. This is an attempt to keep commercial
advertisements where they belong - in nz.biz.misc.

6) At a minimum an advertisement will provide:

   * An email contact address and the name of a contact person.
   * The name of the company advertising.
   * A date at which the offer expires (if applicable)

7) This advertisement should not contain any characters which are not
in the ASCII (127 characters) Latin-1 set (eg. graphics characters
which will not display on most telnet terminals).

An exception to this would be characters which are intended to
enhance when reading in a language other than English (such as
   Chinese or Maori).

Messages containing encoded text, pictures or binaries of any sort
   will be rejected.
