Terry Bowden's birthday party on Saturday 7th September 1996.
Chris Miller and I went along as it was rumoured a few of the people
involved with the NZ Fidonet scene would be there. Since the almost
total demise of Fidonet NZ (a major blow to international connectivity
occured when in September 1995 the USA international fido hub run by Randy
Bush closed down) a lot of the fidonet personalities seem to have
disappeared. A few of the more infamous have went on to become heavily
involved in the NZ Internet. Terry (the one on the right!) mananges IBM's
Internet offering in NZ from IBM Auckland.
In this pic is Terry, wife and two duaghters. Note the glass mug with
amber contents being held at a slant and not too visible here the start of
a glaze in Terry's eyes as the mug contents has its effect.
